Learners
You
have made your first step towards learning to drive already
by researching your instructor.
The way you are
taught to drive will be extremely important as it shapes your
attitude to driving for the rest of your life. At Cheshire
Learners you are not simply taught to pass the test as this is
not enough for today's roads. You will be taught everything you
need to be a competent driver. You will learn quickly and safely
under the instruction of a fully qualified Driving Standards
Agency approved driving instructor. Some driving schools use
'trainee' instructors. Whilst this is allowed and they can
charge, be aware that they have not passed the 3rd part
(teaching ability) of the test process for being an instructor.
The 3rd part of the test is not an additional test as some might
have you think. Look at the DSA website for information about
driving instructors.
It is also
important to find an instructor who is trained in current
methods and has passed the hazard perception test for
themselves. Importantly realise that experience alone does not
make a good instructor, it is best to find someone with a passion for
the job and up to the minute training as the roads and the test
are not the same as they were even a few years ago !!
You will need to
have a provisional licence. Please look at the DVLA website for
this. After starting your training (or before) you will need to
pass the theory stage of the test. This is nothing to worry
about as there are plenty of ways to prepare. You are probably
on a computer right now and may be familiar with computers. You
would be better using computer software to prepare than anything
else. There is more about this in the 'tests' section . |
